I was recently faced with a dilemma that seems to be commonplace these days with children teeth.
The question I asked is why?
The condition is called Hypoplasia (weak teeth enamel). Mean holes start to form in the teeth.
Commonly found in children who have had multiple antibiotics at a young age, trauma or lot of sugar. But what happens if your child has had none of these yet still presents with the problem. After some research genetic came into play and a possible vitamin D deficiency. In my son case, I have narrowed it down to genetic. Know he is at the point of needing stainless crowns, but again after some research, I discovered they are made from nickel (no thanks). Did you know 15% of people have a nickel allergy and it is a heavy metal that can cause other health problems?
There is another option from a holistic dentist which I have as my backup. Still, first I decided to research homeopathy to see if any cases or studies have been done on remineralising the teeth, basically having the enamel grow back. Well, I am happy to report there is such a study using Calc fluor the calcium found in teeth in a homeopathic potency I am using 3x daily for 3 months. Stay tuned for my update in 3 months if it doesn't work well we go for option B.
Teeth come with many challenges prevention is better than cure. After watching Root cause and realising, the teeth are connected as whole to the rest of our system, just like everything else.
It is essential to discover an alternative to supporting the teeth in preventive care.
Homeopathy
Hypericum - an excellent remedy for nerve pain especially in the tooth
Heph sulph- toothache, swelling, painful, gum and teeth very painful. Can support when there is a tooth infection.
Calc fluor/calc phos - I often use this mix in low potency for a patient who's teeth have become weak after chemo it helps strengthen them again.
Mer sol- top toothache remedy affect the whole jaw, ulcerated and worse at night. Bad breath.
Aconite - sudden toothache and a lot of pain that causes anxiety.
Cal Phos - Rapid tooth decay
Staph - another excellent remedy for tooth decay
As with all homeopathic remedies, there are many remedies for tooth pain; it comes down to matching the best one to the symptom picture.
Craniosacral therapy
This component of CranioSacral therapy include intraoral work that releases part of the skull from the mouth, release the TMJ, and we also work with the teeth and the mandible.
Practitioner around the world including dentist use CST to support the orthodontic treatment. Of course intraoral work is only one component of CST and an wholistic approach to this therapy should always be taken, as the whole body is connected.
Can also be used to support tongue-tie- unfortunately, I am not trained yet in paediatric but working toward this.
Always go see your dentist if you are experiencing pain or problems like a tooth that has decayed and died need to be pulled out.
